Abhishek and Aishwyarya Bachchan play equal partners both in their professional and personal lives. That is what came out of their conversation regarding their latest film together “Raavan” and the director they both worship, Mani Ratnam.
The film that stars Abhi-Ash together for the third time after “Guru” and “Sarkaar Raaj”, is their best together till date, according to both of them. And the fact that Mani Ratnam brings out the best in them is something that they both agree on.

While Abhishek shows his respect for his wife’s performance in the movie by saying, “The film has three heroes — Vikram, me and Ash. Her role is definitely on par. And Vikram and I feel proud to share the honour with her,’’ Ash does the same by complementing his acting prowess. “Working with Abhishek is a rewarding experience, he is a wonderful actor.’’ Praising the story of the movie, Ash added, “People asked Mani why he wasn’t calling the film ‘Raavayan’ because it is assumed that Raavan draws a parallel to Ramayan. But simply put, it is a beautiful film about inter-personal relationships.”
Both the husband and wife are absolutely spellbound by Mani Ratnam’s directorial skills. While Abhishek said, “With each film, my respect and love for Mani keeps increasing. I will do almost anything for him. In Raavan I have climbed mountains, jumped off cliffs, hung on bridges, stayed drenched in water for days on end, braved water snakes, had leeches clinging to me in uncomfortable areas and even woken up at an unearthly hour like 3 am. Mani inspires you to put your life on the line for a film,’’ Ash, who calls Mani her guru, shared, Some of my personal favourites have been characters that I played in Mani’s films… like Kalpana or Pushpa (Iruvar-1997), Sujata (Guru-2007) and Raagini (Raavan-2010)… it would be hard to choose
