Mera Naam karegi Roshan, Hats Off Productions' new show on Zee TV launches on 12th July, at the 10.30 PM slot. JD in association with renowned writer Rahil Qaazi aims to sketch the life of a young woman who's father chooses her over her two brothers to perform his final rites. The show is developed on two huge epics of Ramayan and Mahabharat .
Mera Naam Karegi Roshan is a story of the Thakur family which lives in Sammanpur, a few km from Ayodhya. This story is the soul of Ramayan placed in the backdrop of Ayodhya where a 20-year-old girl Reet idolises Lord Ram.
Reet's father Thakur Veer Pratap Singh is idolised as Lord Dashrath in the village but his own sons disrespect him, which hurts him a lot.
Reet, the youngest daughter of Thakur sahib, learns her first lesson of Ramayan at the age of seven when Thakur Sahib tells her that Lord Rama obeyed his father and went to the jungle for 14 years.
Reet obeys every wish of her father. Her father while dying asks her for a promise which after his death she fulfils. How her own family abandons her and she is left alone only because she fulfilled the last wishes of her father.
Emotionally devastated and completely let down by his sons' deeds, Thakur Sahib passes away leaving behind a death wish. He snatches the right to light his pyre from his sons and gives this authority to Reet. The daughter accepts her father's last wish, despite fully knowing its repercussions. A full-fledged war breaks out between the two brothers and their sister. Eventually, Reet manages to win over her sisters-in-law.
