Mamta Mohandas is returning to Kollywood and has finally decided to do another Tamil film. After the last endeavor, with Madhavan in Guru En Aalu, this would be her second entrance to Tamil film.
Her latest venture is Jayam Ravi?s new film called Aadhi Bhagavan, where she would be playing the lead female role. The film would be directed by Ameer, who has been hailed by critics as a distinguished director with a vision.
Mamta once did not want to do Tamil films because she felt that they did not have much to offer her. At that point she defended her action by saying that Tamil films did not challenge her as much as Malayalam films and more meaningful roles had come to her from Mollywood. But now she has changed her tune. Where once she called Tamil films being ?silly? now her verdict about the same is different.
Mamta told the press that a commercial success was important, perhaps more important than doing realistic or arty movies. The commercial films have better reach to the audience. She also claimed she liked her role in Aadhi Bhagavan, and with Ameer directing her, the film would not be another silly flick.
