Akshay Kumar promises to pack in a tasty dish with Master chef India, which premieres on television screens on October 16. The show, which is in search for the best chef in India, will feature cooks from all over India, competing against each other.
Whether Star TV’s new show MasterChef India will be telecast on October 16 or not is for the Bombay high
court to decide.Heena Singh, an artist and writer, has filed a suit against Star India Pvt Limited, claiming that
she is the “exclusive and bonafide copyright holder of the said concept”.
MasterChef India', Star Plus is holding a web premiere on October 14, 2010 at 3 pm, which will give netizens a chance to get a first look at the much-hyped reality show even before it.
It will also be available on www.masterchefindia.in, the official site for the show. Both the Masterchef website and the Star Plus website will not only give information on the show, but also keep viewers updated on the contestants and the show’s progress through the episodes.
Singh said she became a member of the Writers’ Association in 2007 and registered the concept of MasterChef India in 2008. Star TV approached her showing interest in her concept. “They retained a copy of my concept to get approval from higher authorities. I was told they will get in touch with me, but they never did,” she said.
The notice states that the defendants have violated the copyright and committed criminal breach of trust coupled with cheating by keeping Singh uninformed.
