Sonam Kapoor promotes "I Hate Love Stories Movie "

Sonam Kapoor at 92.7 BIG FM to promote I Hate Love Stories Movie. It seems ironic that Karan Johar, one of the peddler’s pop romance is making a film titled, ‘I Hate Love Stories.’ Johar is not directing the film himself but will only be producing it.

I Hate Luv Storys director Punit Malhotra has denied dating Sonam Kapoor time and again, despite the number of rumours that claim otherwise.


Though rumours of their affair have been providing all kinds of publicity to the film, the director has spoken up about it. He states that the rumours about him dating Sonam are baseless. He clarifies that he is single at present and that the buzz about their relationship was all rubbish. However, he didn’t say anything more than that.


According to some reports, Sonam and Punit are in a serious relationship. The couple was apparently spotted together on a dinner date.

But a friend of Punit stated that they hadn’t gone out on a private date but were actually at a common friend Shiraz Siddique’s party where there were more than 50 guests. They were seen getting into their respective cars but that’s simply because their cars were parked nearby.

Punit’s friend asserted that stories linking him with Sonam bother Punit, but there isn’t much he can do about it. It hasn’t changed their warm relationship though.

Recently actor Anil Kapoor,flew to Vancouver to be with Sonam when he heard that she wasn’t in the best of spirits. In fact, makes the best of every opportunity to spend time with his daughter.

Last week Anil, who was in Los Angeles, heard that Sonam was not in a good mood while shooting for ‘Thank You’ in Vancouver, he broke the rule of not mixing his personal and professional life and flew down for four days to be with his her.


Apparently in ‘Thank You’, Sonam plays a reclusive girl. So, to get into the character Sonam consciously stayed aloof from other members of the cast.

Director Anees Bazmee confirms the news and says,

“Yes, Anil did visit us in Vancouver and he really livened up the atmosphere. Normally Anil wouldn’t do such a thing. But we go back a long way.”

Anees admits Sonam’s role was isolating.

“She does play this very simple and shy girl who likes to keep to herself in the first half. In the second half, she comes into her own and blossoms into a successful tennis player. Anil’s presence definitely made a difference to Sonam’s mood, and also ours,”

Sonam Kapoor And Deepika Pdukone News: Bollywood Sweet Actress Sonam Kapoor is following Katrina Kaif’s footstep who is being really choosy in selecting her roles for films. Recently, Sonam Kapoor rejected a film opposite Ranbir Kapoor that also starred Deepika Padukone in the crucial role.
Earlier Katrina had also refused to act in film maker Anurag Basu’s upcoming film Khamoshi that featured Ranbir and Priyanka in the lead role.


The film offered to Sonam will feature Ranbir in a double role where one of them will be set in the 1950s background and the other would be today youngster.

The film directed by Vikramjit Singh is titled Mera Jahan that talks about a comic book writer played by Ranbir who is vanished in his own world of perceptions.

Sonam Kapoor has seen Aditya Chopra’s Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge at least 20 times and says she will not tire if she has to see it another 20 times over.

“It is one of my most favourite films,’’ says Bollywood’s youngest livewire actress. “The chemistry between Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol is amazing. I just love them.’’ Simultaneously, she confesses, “I’m the world’s biggest mush queen with a voracious appetite for love stories.”

Quite naturally, Sonam is super-excited about her July 2, release, Punit Malhotra’s I Hate Luv Stories.

“It’s a fabulous film,’’ she says. “And, it has me playing me. I’m playing Simran who advocates love stories, whereas Imran Khan is Jay, and he’s a cynic. Of course, everyone knows that opposites attract and that is what happens in our case.’’

Gushing uncontrollably about IHLS, Sonam adds, “I loved working with Karan Johar. He is one guy who treats me like an individual. He knows my dad, Anil Kapoor, but when he approached me to play the lead in his film, he spoke to me like an independent person who makes her own decisions.’’

Dharma Productions, says Sonam, spoils its actors. “I was pampered by everyone from director Punit to Karan,’’ she smiles. She admits to having got along like a house on fire with Imran, though on screen they’re constantly pulling each other’s legs. “I personally like guys who have a great sense of humour, are well brought up, and have a good body. I like the concept of tall, dark and handsome. Imran may not fit the bill in every sense, however, we have great screen chemistry. He is a super talented actor and kept me on my toes as an actress.’’

Recommending IHLS to everyone who believes in love, Sonam says, “The nice thing about love stories is that they bring a smile to your face.’’ She’s excited Aisha — her release after IHLS, is also a romantic film. “Yet they are so different in their approach. I don’t want to give away too much,’’ she says, “but I can tell you that as an actor, both have been equally challenging. And for the audience, both will be equally entertaining.’’a

Sonam Kapoor in first look of I Hate Luv Storys !

Early this morning, there was quite a lot of frenzy in cyberspace as Karan Johar unveiled the first look of Dharma Productions' forthcoming film I Hate Luv Storys (IHLS) on the popular social networking site Twitter. The first look has the Gen-Now pair of Imran Khan and Sonam Kapoor looking super cool.


Since most of the people involved with the film (including director Punit Malhotra, producer Karan Johar, actors Imran Khan & Sonam Kapoor and music directors Vishal- Shekhar) are super-active on Twitter, there was but naturally a lot of tweeting, re-tweeting and commenting going on about the first look of IHLS.

Despite the fact that she has not given a single hit at the box-office, there is no denying the fact that the sauve and selve Sonam Kapoor is here to stay. It was her sheer strong determination which led this female become fab from flab. Sonam Kapoor has not yet delivered any hit on the silver screen, but the actress is very hopeful about the coming year as she has a horde of projects in her hand. Two of her films are awaiting release and the shooting for three of the movies are on. 2010 awaits the release of Sonam’s “Aisha” and “I Hate Luv Storys”.


Slated to release in August, “Aisha” is based on Jane Austen’s novel ‘Emma’ and the movie features Abhay Deol, Arunudoy Singh and Cyrus Sahukar besides Sonam.

Releasing this July is Karan Johars’ romantic project, “I Hate Luv Storys” which has Imran Khan and Samir Dattani along with Sonam. This is Punit Malhotra’s debutant directorial venture.

“Guys, I’ve finished filming ‘Aisha’ and ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ and they will be my two releases this year. I’m working on three films this year. I’m doing ‘Thank You’, ‘Mausam’ and the third one I can’t talk about,” Sonam posted on her Twitter page Saturday.

Besides, Sonam is working on Anees Bazmee’s romantic comedy “Thank You” opposite Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Kapoor’s “Mausam” with his son Shahid and one more project.
